Monday, July 14, the Murmansk Local Court informed that the trial in the „foreign agent“ case against Humanistic Youth Movement (GDM) has been suspended until September 10. By then a new „psychological-linguistic expertise“ on texts in the „Youth Human Rights newspaper“ published by GDM is supposed to be prepared, and a new court session should be scheduled. The first expertise had been commissioned by the „Center against extremism“, and was obviously tendentious to such an extent that judge Zemtsova didn‘t want to justify a conviction on it. Instead she called it „questionable“. The fact that the judge to reason an acquittal utilized neither the negative statement of the Ministry of Justice – which is responsible for the „foreign agent“ register –, nor the scientific counter-expertise commissioned by the defense, at least indicates a continuing interest in persecution.
